How To Use volume Calculator  Hide

Lets first understand, what is volume and how we can calculate volumes of various 3-D shapes?

Volume is the quantity of 3-D space enclosed by a closed surface. Volume is quantified numerically in the cubic metre. The volume of a container is the capacity of the container.

Cube

Let the Length of the edge \(L\) units.

Volume will be \(L^3\) cubic units.

Cuboid

Let the Length, Breadth and Height of the Cuboid be \(L, B, H\) units respectively.

Volume will be \(L.B.H\) cubic units.

Cone

Let the Radius and Height be \(R, H\) units respectively.

Volume will be \(\dfrac{1}{3} \pi R^2 H\) cubic units.

Cylinder

Let the Radius and Height be \(R, H\) units respectively.

Volume will be \(\pi R^2 H\) cubic units.

Sphere

Let the Radius of the Sphere be \(R\) units.

Volume will be \(\dfrac{4}{3}\pi R^3\) cubic units.

Hemisphere

Let the Radius of the Hemisphere be \(R\) units.

Volume will be \(\dfrac{2}{3}\pi R^3\) cubic units.

Conical Frustum

Let the Smaller Radius, Larger Radius and Height be \(r,R,H\) units respectively.

Volume will be \(\dfrac{1}{3}\pi H(r^2 + R^2 +r.R)\) cubic units.

For calculating volumes of the various 3-D shapes using above volume calculator, you have to just write the values in the given input boxes and press the calculate button, you will get the result.
